چکیده

Habitat selection has long been a central theme in ecology and historically considered both physiological responses ecological factors affecting species establishment. Investigating habitat patterns at different scales can provide important information on the relative roles of environmental influencing organisms’ abilities to use their surrounding habitat. This work aimed investigating which determine by Rhinella icterica tadpoles, also took opportunity investigate how scale tadpoles data are sampled might influence results. A total 2.240 were counted whole sampling area, while substrate cover depth variables that better explained abundance larger (plot level), water turbidity tadpoles’ smaller (subplot level). The results suggest avoiding predation matching background color is likely process explaining occupancy scales. Depth known tadpole tropics, although its combination with varied between scales, our study suggests not affect inferred processes driving selection. be useful predict micro-environmental perturbations help guiding choice parameters should taken into account when analyzing effects degradation Atlantic Forest amphibian populations.

Internal oral morphology in larvae of the genus Rhinella Fitzinger, 1826 (Amphibia, Anura, Bufonidae) .

From the 86 species allocated in the genus Rhinella, 25 have their tadpoles described and only R. arenarum, R. chrysophora, R. icterica, R. ornata, R. schneideri and R. spinulosa have aspects of the internal oral morphology evidenced. Herein, the internal oral morphology from 12 species of Rhinella distributed between the morphological groups of R. crucifer, R. granulosa, R. marina and R margar...

Population traits of the burrowing toad Rhinella fernandezae (Gallardo, 1957) (Anura, Bufonidae).

Size distribution, sex ratio and use of burrows of the burrowing toad Rhinella fernandezae were studied in Buenos Aires province, Argentina. Two sites separated by approximately 300 m were studied: one was a road next to a swamp, and the other a garden of a country house located further from the swamp. We identified toad burrows, and individuals were sexed, measured and given an individual mark...

Advertisement call of Rhinella crucifer (Wied-Neuwied, 1821) (Anura: Bufonidae) from southern Bahia, Brazil.

The Rhinella crucifer species group is currently composed by six species: Only two species in the group have described calls: R. ornata as Bufo crucifer in Heyer et al. (1990) and R. pombali (Lourenço et al. 2010). The type locality of R. crucifer was informed as being between São Pedro de Alcantara in Santa Catarina and Barra da Vereda in Bahia, but as stated by Bokermann (1966) the type local...

Variation of atmospheric depth profile on different time scales

The vertical profile of atmospheric depth is an important element in extensive air shower studies. The depth of shower maximum is one of the most important characteristics of the shower. In the fluorescence technique of shower detection, the geometrical reconstruction provides the altitude of shower maximum, so that an accurate profile of atmospheric depth is needed to convert this altitude to ...
